TB Pradhan President Singtam Newar Kalyan Sangathan felicitated

TB Pradhan, President Singtam Newar Kalyan Sangathan and social worker was felicitated on the 39^th edition of Singtam Basibiyalo at Singtam Nepali Dharamsala on November 29, 2011. He was honoured for his selfless contribution towards society. Ugen T Gyatso, Chip Whip, Government of Sikkim and Area MLA Tumin-Lingee constituency was the Chief Guest on the occasion; he handed over the memento and Khada to TB Pradhan.

Also present on the occasion was Parasmani Dungal (editor Samay Dainik), Bishnu Maya Sherpa and Anita Tamang (Councilors Sikkim Nagar Panchayat), TN Poudyal (President Himali Sangh,Dalapchand), Praveen Pradhan (President, SPARK), Ruben Sahi (Muscian), Bindhya Singh (Actress), Ganga Pradhan and others.

Speaking on the occasion Ugen T Gyatso praised the efforts of Mohan Pradhan ‘Neeraj’ for his imitation to organize a monthly Basibiyalo at Singtam for any aspiring performers. Gyatso went on to say we need to make our presence feel among the society rather than being born for other ordinary works. If we are positive in our deeds we can never fail and can make mark, he added. Parasmani Dangal, editor of Samay Dainik daily newspaper from Gangtok is his speech requested Mohan Pradhan ‘Neeraj’, Sansthapak of Singtam Basibiyalo to introduce essay competition to encourage students to be part of Singtam Basibiyalo where Samay Dainik shall also make contributions, said Dangal.

Rebika Rai and Ishwar Dawari (Dalapchand Secondary School), Purnima Thatal (Daramdin), Anu Sunar and Ruben Sahi (Gangtok), Diwas Rai (Saplay), Gangaa Mukhia and Geeta Sharma (Singtam) entertained the gathered crowds with their melodious songs. Students of Singalila Academy, Singtam and Roda Rai from Dalapchand Secondary School presented wonderful dancing performance. Bijay Katuwal (Nepal), Khusboo Chettri (Rhenock), Vipin Kaushik (Toppakhani), Kavita Pariyar (Rangpo) and Kavita Dawari recited poems while RC Sharma shared few standup comedy.

Kalyan Khati from Kalimpong was also presented memento for being the winner of Basibiyalo Quiz Competition.
